COC-M: Kraus wins again

The second competition at the Continental Cup in Liberec (CZE) on Sunday was decided after one round only. Due to the difficult wind conditions today's competition started earlier and the trial round was cancelled, then also the final round became a victim of the strong wind.

Austrians win title in team competition

It was an amazing evening in Predazzo with a final that will go down in history. The Austrian team won its seventh World Championship title. After a jury meeting the Silver medal went to Germany and Bronze to Poland, ahead of Norway.

COC-L: Ema Klinec takes win in Oberwiesenthal

While the ladies' World Cup is taking a little break right now, two ladies' Continental Cup competitions are held in Oberwiesenthal (GER) this weekend. 41 athletes of ten nations were taking part on Saturday and Ema Klinec of Slovenia was the best. The second place went to Michaela Dolezelova of the Czech Republic, followed by Germany's Juliane Seyfarth.  

COC-M: Victory for Marinus Kraus

Marinus Kraus of Germany won the first Continental Cup competition of the weekend on the normal hill in Liberec (CZE) and celebrated his first win this winter.

Kamil Stoch is World Champion

Kamil Stoch of Poland clearly won the thrilling competition in Val di Fiemme and became the new World Champion. Slovene Peter Prevc captured the silver medal and Anders Jacobsen of Norway won Bronze.

Japan first mixed team World Champion

Premiere in Val di Fiemme, Italy: The first ever mixed team competition was held at WSC and the team of Japan won the first ever World Championship title in this new format. Yuki Ito, Daiki Ito, Sara Takanashi and Taku Takeuchi took the Gold in an exciting competition ahead of Austria and Germany.

COC-M: First win this season for Atle Pedersen Roensen

The second Continental Cup competition this weekend in Wisla (POL) ended with a win of Norwegian Atle Pedersen Roensen. The other two spots on the podium went to Matic Benedik and Jan Ziobro.

Gold for Anders Bardal

Snowfall and the floodlight created a fantastic scenery for an exciting competition in Val di Fiemme. Norwegian Anders Bardal captured the gold medal with his impressive second jump. Silver went to Gregor Schlierenzauer, Peter Prevc of Slovenia won the bronze medal.

COC-M: Danny Queck wins in Wisla

While the fight for Gold, Silver and Bronze is on at the World Championships in Val di Fiemme, the Continental Cup series continues in Poland. On the schedule for this weekend are two competitons in Wisla and the first one on Saturday was won by Danny Queck.

Sarah Hendrickson crowns herself World Champion

She fulfilled her own expectations, lived up to her role as a favorite and could handle the pressure: Sarah Hendrickson crowned this winter with winning the World Championships title at the season's highlight in Val di Fiemme, Italy. She seized the chance on the home hill of her coach Paolo Bernardi perfectly and dominated today's competition. Sara Takanashi (JPN) won the silver medal, bronze went to Austrian Jacqueline Seifriedsberger.

Many favorites for normal hill event

The men's normal hill competition in Predazzo on Saturday promises to be extremely exciting. After the second day of training, when all favorites were taking part, it seems that the competitions will be very close - what is not really surprising on a normal hill.

Favorites dominate third day of training

Also on Thursday, the third official training day for the ladies at the WSC in Val di Fiemme, almost all athletes took part in the training rounds. The top favorites Sara Takanashi (JPN) and Sarah Hendrickson (USA) once again lived up to their role and proved that they will be the ones to beat in tomorrow's individual competition. Defening champion Daniela Iraschko of Austria, who can't take part in the Championships due to injury, visited her colleagues today at the training.

Bardal strong in first training

With the first three official training rounds on the normal hill, the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Val di Fiemme also started for the ski jumpers on Wednesday.

Norway wins FIS Team Tour

Nobody would have expected that before today's team competition. The team of Norway showed an extremely strong performance and could defeat the favorites of Slovenia in the final of the FIS Team Tour. Besides winning ahead of Austria and Slovenia today, the athletes of coach Alex Stöckl could also win the prize money of € 100 000,- for the overall title of the FIS Team Tour.

Sara Takanashi wins overall World Cup title

16-year-old Sara Takanashi was unbeatable today in Ljubno: With her eighth win this season she also wrote history with becoming the youngest overall World Cup champion. Coline Mattel and Sarah Hendrickson were also on the podium as second and third.

COC-M: First win for Andraz Pograjc

After a German won the Continental Cup competition in Brotterode on Saturday ahead of two Slovenes, Andraz Pograjc took the win for Slovenian team in Sunday's competition.

Richard Freitag wins exciting ski flying competition

Local hero Richard Freitag won the exciting event in Oberstdorf by only 0.3 points! The German reached 409.8 points and was followed by Andreas Stjernen (409.5 points) and Gregor Schlierenzauer (409 points).

Sara Takanashi's winning streak continues

The final test for the World Championships takes place in Ljubno: Only a few days before the World Championships the ladies' have their last World Cup competitions before the major event this weekend. With sunshine and a great crowd of spectators, Japanese Sara Takanashi lived up to her role as favorite and took the win on Saturday. Sarah Hendrickson (USA) and Coline Mattel (FRA) shared the podium with her as second and third.
