First World Cup win for Jaka Hvala

Slovenia's Jaka Hvala took his first win in the World Cup in Klingenthal today. Hvala, newly crowned Junior World Champion, was already in the lead after the first round with his 142.5 m jump. And this time Hvala could defend this position and captured his first win with 133 m in the final. The 19-year-old scored a total of 259.5 points.

Big news for the ski jumping World Cup

The World Cup season 2013/14 might not start in northern Finland or Norway for the world's best ski jumpers, but maybe in the German regions of Saxony or the Black Forest.

COC-M: Three Slovenes on top

The Slovenian jumpers are presenting themselves in a great shape right now, not only in the World Cup, but also in the Continental Cup. Like already in the second competition on Saturday, the athletes of Slovenia were also the best on Sunday in Iron Mountain.

Cancellation in Willingen

Double victory for Sara Takanashi in Zao

During the last days in Zao (JPN) the wind conditions were not easy to handle for athletes and organizers as well. Changing wind conditions with strong gusts not only caused the cancellation of Friday's official training, but also forced the jury to postpone the first individual competition from Saturday to Sunday. For this reason two individual competitions were carried out on one day. The victory at both competitions was claimed by loca hero Sara Takanashi from Japan ahead of Jacqueline Seifriedsberger (AUT) and Carina Vogt (GER) at the first  competition and Jacqueline Seifriedsberger and Sarah Hendrickson (USA) at the second competition

COC-M: Bjerkeengen and Semenic win in Iron Mountain

This weekend the Continental Cup circuit moved to the USA, where three competitions are planned in Iron Mountain, MI this weekend. The first competition on the Pine Mountain ski jump was won by Fredrik Bjerkeengen.

Slovenia dominates team competition

The winning streak of the Slovenian jumpers continues. With a victory in the team competition in Willingen the Slovenes lived up to their role as the top ski jumping team and followed up on their success in Zakopane. The athletes around ski flying World Champion Robert Kranjec are now the favorites for the overall title at the FIS Team Tour 2013.

Next win for Schlierenzauer

Not even five hours after he celebrated his 47th win in the World Cup, Gregor Schlierenzauer took victory number 48 - another record. Nothing and nobody can stop the 23-year-old at the hills right now.

COC-M: Kraft and Hula win in Planica

The Continental Cup stops in the Slovenian ski jumping center in Planica. The two competitions this weekend were the first international competitions on the brand-new large hill. Because it was not possible to jump on Saturday due to the heavy snowfall, both competitions were held on Sunday.

47th win in the World Cup for Gregor Schlierenzauer

Gregor Schlierenzauer became a sports legend in Harrachov today. On the Certak ski flying hill Schlierenzauer jumped on 193.5 m and 211 m (421.7 points) and achieved his 47th win in the World Cup. In a extremely close competition the Austrian won with the tiny margin of 0.3 points ahead of Robert Kranjec of Slovenia (197 m and 204 ; 421.4 points). The third place went to local hero Jan Matura (206 m and 183.5 m; 389.1 points).

Jacqueline Seifriedsbeger wins second competition in Sapporo

With the second individual competition in Sapporo, the first World Cup weekend of the ladies' trip to Japan has come to an end. After she ranked second yesterday, Jacqueline Seifriedsberger from Austria managed to stand on top of the podium today. Anette Sagen from Norway and Sarah Hendrickson from USA finished on the second and third place.

Victory for Coline Mattel in Sapporo

After the Junior World Championships in Liberec, the Ladies' World Cup is now continued in Far East. The first of two individual competitions in Sapporo, Japan, was won by Coline Mattel from France ahead of Jacqueline Seifriedsberger from Austria and Anette Sagen from Norway. For Mattel it was the second World Cup victory this season.

Norwegian stars not to Harrachov

The Norwegian team started the ski flying weekend in front of their home crowd in Vikersund with high goals. At the end the jumpers of head coach Alex Stoeckl fell short of the expectations.

COC-M: Fettner wins after one round

The second competition of the Continental Cup weekend in Titisee-Neustadt (GER) was decided after only one round. After some delays the jury cancelled the final round after only six jumpers due to the strong wind.

World Champion Kranjec flies to victory

Slovenia's Robert Kranjec won the second ski flying event in Vikersund. Kranjec, who won the ski flying World Championship title here last year, jumped on 231.5 m and 230 m (416.5 points) and won ahead of Germany's Michael Neumayer, who surprised as second, and yesterday's winner Gregor Schlierenzauer of Austria. For Kranjec it was the fifth win the World Cup, the first this winter.

Title at the Junior Worlds also for Slovenian men's team

After the victory of their female colleagues a few hours earlier, the Slovenian men's representation also took the team event in Liberec by storm and can now proudly call themselves the new junior world champions. Anze Semenic, Ernest Prislic, Cene Prevc and final jumper Jaka Hvala secured the gold medal in a thrilling competition ahead of Poland and Germany.

Schlierenzauer wins high-class ski flying event

Gregor Schlierenzauer celebrated his 46th win in the World Cup on the huge hill in Vikersund today and equalled the record of Finland's Matti Nykaenen. Schlierenzauer took this record win with 216.5 m and 240 m and finished ahead of Simon Ammann and Robert Kranjec.

COC-M: First win for Fredrik Bjerkeengen

The next two Continental Cup competitions of the winter are taking place in Titisee-Neustadt (GER) this weekend. On the large "Hochfirstschanze" (HS 142) in the Black Forest Fredrik Bjerkeengen celebrated his first win in the COC on Saturday.

JWSC Liberec: Clear win for Slovenian ladies team

The final decisions at the Junior World Championships in Liberec are going to be in place after this Saturday's competitions. Up first, the ladies have already made their attempts to make JWSC history, and the effect was a clear win by the favored Slovenian representation, which finished ahead of their rivals from France and Germany.
