The second competition at the Continental Cup in Liberec (CZE) on Sunday was decided after one round only. Due to the difficult wind conditions today's competition started earlier and the trial round was cancelled, then also the final round became a victim of the strong wind.
The best in this one round was Marinus Kraus of Germany, who repeated his win from the day before with a jump on 103 m and 142.5 points.
The second place on the normal hill at the Jeted was shared by two jumpers, Norwegian Fredrik Bjerkeengen and Matic Kramarsic of Slovenia. Bjerkeengen jumped on 102.5 m, Kramarsic landed at 101 m, both reached a total of 138.0 points.
Pius Paschke was the second best German in this competition, missed the podium by only 1.5 points and came in fourth with also 101 m. Karl Geiger completed the great result of the German team as sixth today.
Between the two German jumpers, the best of the Austrians, Manuel Poppinger, finished fifth.
Not only the Germans had three jumpers in the Top 10 today, the same was achieved by the strong team of Slovenia. Slovene Ziga Mandl came in seventh, followed by the best Pole, Jan Ziobro (8th).
Three athletes shared the ninth place on Sunday: Aleksander Zniszczol of Poland, Slovene Anze Semenic and Andreas Strolz of Austria.
Matic Benedik of Slovenia, who did not compete in Liberec, remains in the lead of the overall ranking of the COC also after this weekend with 651 points. He is followed by Atle Pedersen Roensen with 647 points and Anze Semenic (599 points).
