Norwegian Anette Sagen achieved her first victory this winter at the second individual competition in Schonach. Daniela Iraschko from Austria ranked second, followed by French Coline Mattel.

Despite the fog, the spectators at the Langenwald-hill in Schonach saw a competition on a high level, that Anette Sagen was able to win in an exciting final. With 98 m she did not only show the longest jump of the day in the first round, but also set a new hill record. Due to lower judges' marks she was second at that point. With 94 m in the final round and a total of 224.9 points she captured the win. "I am super happy, especially my second jump was almost perfect. I really like it here in Schonach", today's winner said.
With a jump on 96 m, Austrian Daniela Iraschko, third yesterday, was fourth after the first round but still had a good chance to finish on the podium. 92.5 m in the second round and 224.3 points were sufficient to secure the second place, only 0.6 points behind the winner. "The two jumps today could have been good enough for the win, but I had some bad luck with the conditions. But all in all I'm satisfied with this weekend, it's a very nice event here", Iraschko told.
French Coline Mattel was in the lead after the first round with her jump on 97.5 m. With 90 m in the final she could not keep up with the jumps of the best but at the end she was still happy with yet another podium result this season. "Today I was jumping a lot better than on Saturday. I analyzed my jumps from yesterday's competition and tried to avoid the same mistakes. It worked out quite well for me today."
Being third after the first round, Italian Evelyn Insam could hope for another top result after her second place yesterday. But she landed already after 90 m in the final and so she could not defend her position and came in seventh. Yesterday's winner Sara Takanashi of Japan (4.), Sarah Hendrickson of the USA (5.), Line Jahr of Norway (6.), Jacqueline Seifriedsberger of Austria (8.), Katja Pozun of Slovenia (9.) and her teammate Ursa Bogataj (10.) also achieved Top 10 results.
Best German athlete in today's competition was Carina Vogt as 12th. Head coach Andreas Bauer was not completely satisfied with this result: "We are a bit disappointed today because we were not able to take advantage of the good position after the first round. Some athlets made technical mistakes." Svenja Wuerth, who got the green light to compete despite problems with her collateral ligament, could not make a telemark and closely missed the final round as 31st.
Japanese Sara Takanashi lost some points in the overall ranking with her fourth place today, but she still has a lead of 100 points ahead of Daniela Iraschko before the next World Cup competitions in Hinterzarten next weekend.
