The first Continental Cup competition of the weekend in Zakopane was decided after one round only. After some delays due to the strong wind at the Wielka Krokiew hill the jury finally had to cancel the second round.
So the German team could celebrate a triple victory a bit earlier today. Wtih a jump on 132 m and 136.1 points 21-year-old Daniel Wenig captured his first ever win in the COC series. "I'm really satisfied. The coaches will decide if I can come back for the World Cup in Wisla and Zakopane", said the winner.
His teammate Maximilian Mechler, like Wenig a member of the national group at the first stops of the 4-Hills-Tournament, came in second with 129.5 m (132.1 points). "I'm jumping well now and I'm satisfied with the result. Fortunately it wasn't snowing today, but the wind changed a lot. The cancellation of the final round was a good decision."

The third place went to Marinus Kraus with a jump on 129 m (131.7 points). "It's amazing to jump here in Zakopane and I'm very happy right now."
Fredrik Bjerkeengen of Norway and Slovene Anze Semenic shared the fourth place and missed the podium by only 0.5 points.
Best of the hosts from Poland was Klemens Muranka as sixth, followed by the two Norwegians Atle Pedersen Roensen (7th) and Kim Rene Elverum Sorsell (8th), who completed a strong result for their team this afternoon.
Former 4-Hills-Tournament winner Jakub Janda of the Czech Republic was ninth and with Matic Kramarsic as tenth also the Slovenian team could place more then one athlete in the Top 10, just like Germany and Norway.
Kraft leads the overall ranking
Austrian Stefan Kraft, who is competing in the World Cup in Bischofshofen this weekend, still leads in the overall ranking with 345 points, ahead of Klemens Muranka (200 points) and Daniel Wenig (165 points).
