No good news this weekend from Lahti: Due to a strong winter storm both Continental Cup competitions on Saturday and Sunday were cancelled.
"From Friday night the wind conditions have been very challenging by the means of wind strength. It was clear that we couldn't let the athletes jump with winds of more than 10 m/s. It's very disappointing because the weather was perfect the whole week", said Event Director Jesse Kiuru.
Decision was easy
Also the Technical Delegate of the FIS, Oeyvind Blakset, saw no chance to carry out a competition. "We had gusts of up to 12 m/s so the decision to cancel was easy today due to safety reasons."
The Continental Cup will now continue after the Christmas break with two competitions in Engelberg on December 27th and 28th.
