Green light for the 61st 4-Hills-Tournament

Nothing shall stand in the way of the first major highlight of the 2012/13 season: After the recently cold temperatures and the in some parts heavy snowfall the 4-Hills-Tournament can be carried out.

There's already enough snow at the four locations, Oberstdorf, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Innsbruck and Oberstdorf, to prepare the hills for the 61st edition of this prestigious event. "We can give the green light as early as hardly ever before", said Alfons Schranz, president of the 4-Hills-Tournament.

The snow production is already completed at all the facilities and the preparations for the event are in full swing. "We will start preparing the hill in the next days. Everything goes according to plan and so the German national team will also have the chance to train on their home hill after the World Cups in Engelberg", told Stefan Huber, general secretary in Oberstdorf.

The organizers are also well prepared if the temperatures might get warmer during the Tournament. For the first time the inrun tracks on all four hills are equipped with a cooling system. "This gives us additional reliability for carrying out the event and it also assures equal conditions for the athletes", said Schranz.
