Before the World Cup will be held in Sapporo next week, three Continental Cup events will take place in the Japanese city this weekend. In the first competition, held on the normal hill, the Norwegian team celebrated a double victory.
Andreas Stjernen was in the lead after the first round with a 97 m jump and captured the victory with 94.5 m in the final and a total of 250.0 points. For the 23-year-old this was the second victory in the COC, the first this season.
The second place went to his teammate Ole Marius Ingvaldsen with 96 m and 94.5 m (247.5 points).
Mackenzie Boyd-Clowes from Canada showed the longest jump in the second round with 95 m and with this performance he moved up from ninth to third overall (243.0 points).
Behind Mitja Meznar from Slovenia, who finished fourth, Kim Rene Elverum Sorsell (5th) and Anders Fannemel (6th) completed the great result of the Norwegian jumpers.
Austrian Manuel Fettner, who won both competitions last weekend in Titisee-Neustadt (GER), came in seventh this time.
The two Slovenes Ziga Mandl (8th) and Tomaz Naglic (9th) and the best of the German team, Felix Schoft (10th), could also achieve a Top 10 result.
Austria's Michael Hayboeck leads in the overall ranking of the COC with 542 points, followed by the Norwegians Andreas Stjernen (508 points) and Kenneth Gangnes (473 points).
