The action in the Polish ski jumping center Zakopane will start again on Thursday. It's year one after Adam Malysz and it will be interesting to see if the atmosphere will be as good as during the "Malysz-years". Last year Adam Malysz celebrated his 39th and last World Cup victoryin Zakopane. This year Kamil Stoch has to make the Polish ski jumping enthusiasts happy.
And Stoch achieved a podium result in Bad Mitterndorf last weekend. Apart from Kamil Stoch none of the Polish jumpers can be among the best right now.
Austrians want to make amends
But this year Zakopane is not only about Stoch and Co., but for many teams it will also be a chance to make amends. The Austrians couldn't achieve a podium result for the first time this season at their home events in Bad Mitterndorf. This shall of course not happen again this weekend.
Adam Malysz in the Hall of Fame »
Also the lead of Andreas Kofler in the overall World Cup ranking is not that big anymore. Norwegian Anders Bardal can capture the yellow bib when he performs as good as he did in Bad Mitterndorf. But Kofler is back on his terrain, the a bit smaller hills. The Tyrolean has never been a very good ski flyer. He wants to do a lot better again in Zakopane. Of course also Gregor Schlierenzauer wants to be on top again after his disqualification. He can equal the number of the legendary Adam Malysz with 39 World Cup victories. And where can that be better than in Zakopane?
Also the German team wants to be more successful again than on the first ski flying weekend of the season. A ninth place of Severin Freund was their top result at the Kulm-hill. Only a 24th place was the best for the Russian team, they also want to improve in Zakopane.
Norwegians and Slovenes totally relaxed
Also Simon Ammann wants to get closer to the top. The Swiss is consistently achieving results between eighth and 12th. The four-time Olympic Champion has other expectations. Last year he won one event at the Wielka-Krokiew hill.
The results of Anders Bardal »
The Norwegians and the Slovenes can come to Poland totally relaxed. Bardal has a great season with success after success. And the 29-year-old enjoys being in the spotlight. He would love to leave Poland with the yellow bib of the overall leader. And with less than 50 points behind Kofler this is possible. Also Rune Velta is getting stronger and stronger. And - of course in ski flying - Johan Remen Evensen showed some improvement and achieved his best results of the season last weekend.

After Robert Kranjec's victory everything is great for the Slovenian team. Peter Prevc and Jurij Tepes also showed good performances, the team of head coach Goran Janus is doing just fine.
It all starts on Thursday at 6:00 pm CET with the qualification. The competitions will be held on Friday and Saturday.
