Bjoern Einar Romoeren is not getting in a good shape so far this winter. A 19th place in Harrachov was his best result, only in four competition he could qualify for the final of the best 30.
After the former world record holder, who was suffering from a herniated intervertebral disc last fall, could also not show convincing performances in the ski flying competitions last weekend with a 37th and 27th place, he will now take a competition break.
"I'm angry at myself"
"I'm very angry at myself. I jumped well in training but when you then come here and don't reach the second round then you have to return home and train. There's nothing else you can do", Romoeren said to the Norwegian newspaper "VG".
Head coach Alexander Stoeckl shares this opinion. "He improved in training but he can not show that in the competition. He has to work on the technique in order to get on a higher level. That's why he will not be in the World Cup team now and train at home for two weeks."

The 30-year-old is also frustrated when it comes to the ski flying World Championships late February. "When I'm jumping like that, it's better they don't send me there." Although Anders Bardal and the two youngsters Vegard Haukoe Sklett and Rune Velta showed better performances this season and also Johan Remen Evensen achieved good results at the ski flying events in Bad Mitterndorf his coach still leaves the door open for him. "There's still some time left. We know him and we know what he is capable of when he's in shape. He still has a chance", Stoeckl told "VG".
