Felix Schoft from Germany captured the victory in the second Continental Cup competition in Sapporo (JPN).
The 21-year-old was tenth after the first round and earned his first win in the COC since over three years with 131 m in the final and a total of 261.9 points. "I had to fight hard for my first victory in the COC on snow. I was tenth after the first round. In the final I had a good jump and was worried until the end that someeone would be better."
Only 0.2 points behind the winner, Dejan Judez from Slovenia finished second with 132 m and 127 m. "I'm very happy about the podium result. I had good conditions in the first round and in the second I was able to defend my position."
The third place went to a big name of ski jumping: 36-year-old Japanese Kazuyoshi Funaki. The Olympic Champion from 1998 was only 25th after the first round, but he captured the spot on the podium with his second jump on 133.5 m. "After almost five years I'm on the podium in the COC again. I'm more than happy with this result."
Close behind Funaki his young fellow countryman Kenshiro Ito came in fourth. He missed the podium by only 0.4 points.
The fifth place went to Slovene Tomaz Naglic, followed by Finland's Olli Muotka and his teammate Ziga Mandl.
The Norwegians, who celebrated a double victory in the normal hill competition on Friday, did not do that well this time but still achieved a good team result. With Anders Fannemel, Andreas Stjernen and Kim Rene Elverum Sorsell they landed on the places eight, nine and ten.

Michael Hayboeck from Austria still tops the COC overall ranking. With 542 points he is leading ahead of Andreas Stjernen (537 points) and Kenneth Gangnes (473 points).
