This is summer competition series that was introduced in 1994 and can be compared to the FIS World Cup in winter with an overall ranking.
The events serve as a good opportunity for the athletes to compare their shape and also for the FIS to test new rules in competitions on the highest level.
It usually starts late July and is well established among the fans and the media.
Prize money
The required prize money for an individual competition must be CHF 12 000,-. It is devided between the best six athletes. The required prize money for a team competition is also CHF 12 000,-. It is devided between the best three teams.
Overall ranking
Just like in the World Cup, there is also an overall ranking of the Grand Prix for which the points an athlete scores in the individual competitions are added up. The points for the achieved results are the same as in the World Cup in winter.
