All ski jumping facilities which are used nationally and internationally must be certified before competitions can take place. This certification is called homologation.

 

After the construction or renovation of a jumping hill the national ski association is responsible for applying for the homologation. After the plans have been reviewed a hill certificate, that is valid for five years, is worked out.
