opprettet på: 17.10.2012 15:54 / km

Romoeren already suffered from back pain last season and the former ski flying world record holder was now again forced to take a break for a few weeks.

"It has been five painful weeks for Bjoern Einar. On some days he wasn't even able to get out of bed", the physiotherapist of the Norwegian team, Janne Karppinen, told the newspaper "VG".

Time frame for comeback unclear

Sport director Clas Brede Brathen doesn't give any information on vg.no about how long the 31-year-old will be sidelined. "It's totally unclear when you are able to return to full training and competing after back surgery." It can also mean that Romoeren will be out for the next winter, but according to Brathen Romoeren's goal are the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi 2014.

Bjoern Einar Romoeren issued an optimistic statement on Twitter and tells that neither the next season, nor his career is in jeopardy.
