COC-M: Loitzl's winning streak continues

Like already the last four competitions, also the final event ended with a win of Wolfgang Loitzl. The former 4-Hills-Tournament winner and World Champion is in an great shape right now and with 140 m and 140.5 m (289.4 points) he won for the fifth time in a row.

"It was another good competition. Now I will take a little break and train for the Austrian championships. There I want to get a little closer to my young teammates again", said Loitzl. 

 

The second place went to young German Karl Geiger who proved his talent once again with 139 m and 140.5 m (282.1 points) and stood on the podium already for the second time this summer. Jakub Janda, another former 4-Hills-Tournament winner in the field of this COC, was third with 140 m and 137.5 (281.5 points) and achieved his best result in the Continental Cup since two years. 

 

"Standing on the podium together with two 4-Hills-Tournament winners is a great feeling. I hope that I'll also get the chance to compete in the Grand Prix final", said Geiger. Also Jakub Janda was happy about his result: "I'm very satisfied. I've only been training for 10 days, so it went really well. Now I also want to show a good performance at the Grand Prix final."

Jan Matura, who was jumping extremely consistent during this competition series, was also among the best at the final. He was fourth, but with 267.8 points he clearly missed the podium.

 

The fifth place went to Poland's Grzegorz Mietus, French Ronan Lamy Chappuis achieved the best result of his career as sixth. Besides Karl Geiger, another young German showed a convincing performance. 17-year-old Andreas Wellinger of Ruhpolding was seventh.

 

Olli Muotka of Finland (8th), Poland's Aleksander Zniszczol (9th) and Krzysztof Biegun and David Viry (both on the tenth place) completed the Top 10 in this season's final. 

 

The victory in the overall ranking went to Jan Matura with 742 points, followed by Wolfgang Loitzl (680 points) and Anders Jacobsen (478 points).
