COC-M: Double victory for Austria

Austria could celebrate a double victory in the first Continental Cup competition in Predazzo (ITA) on Saturday evening.

 

Former 4-Hills-Tournament winner and World Champion Wolfgang Loitzl won with jumps on 127.5 m and 128 m and a total of 259.4 points.

His young teammate Stefan Kraft was in the lead ahead of the veteran after the first round with 129.5 m, with 123 m in the final the 18-year-old came in second overall (253.0 points).

 

After his victory in Wisla last weekend, Marco Grigoli proved his good shape also in Italy. The Swiss landed on the third place with 123 m and 125.5 m (244.3 points).

 

Ziga Mandl of Slovenia closely missed the podium and finished fourth. Lukas Mueller completed the very good result of the Austrians as fifth.

 

Borek Sedlak of the Czech Republic was sixth, followed by the best Pole, Bartlomiej Klusek (7th) and the best of the Norwegians, Robert Johansson (8th). Felix Schoft achieveda Top 10 result for Germany as ninth.

 

Andreas Stjernen leads in the overall ranking of the COC with 1017 points, ahead of Michael Hayboeck (834 points) and Kenneth Gangnes (774 points). All three are not participating in Predazzo.
