Three rounds today in Vikersund

opprettet på: 02.03.2012 12:27 / km

Yesterday the wind spoiled the plans of the brave ski flyers at the World Championships in Vikersund, but today they shall get the chance to fly three times.

The show on the world's largest hill starts already at 3:00 pm CET. Instead of the trial round, a first competition round is planned with 40 participants. Then 30 athletes will qualify for the next two rounds.

So the fans can look forward to exactly 100 flights. Yesterday, Severin Freund was in the lead after he set a new personal best, but then the round was cancelled with only five jumpers left. This was especially bad news for the German team, because with Maximilian Mechler another German was third, behind Norwegian Rune Velta.

Especially for Kamil Stoch, who would not have qualified for the second round yesterday, and also for Gregor Schlierenzauer and Simon Ammann the restart is a huge chance. We will know more at 3:00 pm CET.
