The fight for Gold, Silver and Bronze in Vikersund begins on Thursday. The world's best ski jumpers target the 250 m mark. After the reconstruction of the hill this might be possible. But who is able to do that? And who will win a medal? FISskijumping.com introduces the favorites.
Daiki Ito: Daiki Ito a top favorite? Yes. The Japanese leads in the ski flying World Cup and is definitely a contestant for a medal. His worst result in ski flying this season as a fourth place. This says everthings about the current strength of the athlete who won both events in Sapporo.
Robert Kranjec: He is one of the most consistent ski flyers for years and this season he is in a really good shape. The Slovene not only won the team competition in Oberstdorf together with his teammates - by the way, the first win for Slovenia in a team event - he also won an individual competition in Bad Mitterndorf. It's obvious: Kranjec can win a medal.

Anders Bardal: The Norwegians expect medals at this ski flying show, in the team and in the individual. The hopes in the individual event are especially on Anders Bardal. He is the strongest Norwegian this season and he already won a ski flying event in Bad Mitterndorf. The question is how he will handle the pressure or if maybe the enthusiastic fans will give him an extra boost. Then also Gold is possible.
Thomas Morgenstern: Also this name might be a little surprising, he is not really considered a highflyer on the huge hills. But actually he's the best Austrian in the ski flying World Cup. And he already proved various times that he can do well on every hill.

Martin Koch: One of the top favorites. Winner in Oberstdorf, earned the overall victory for his team at the FIS Team Tour and is getting in top shape right on time for his personal highlight of the season. The athlete from Carinthia shall be one of the top favorites for Gold, Silver or Bronze.
Gregor Schlierenzauer: Of course he has to be reckoned with in ski flying, although he was not in a shape to win medals in Oberstdorf. But to now reckon with him would be a mistake.

Kamil Stoch: Secretly and quietly Stoch made a name for himself as on of the world's best ski flyers. Two sixth and one third place are his results this season. Stoch is an allrounder who can always achieve everything. If he has a good day and okay wind conditions he can win a medal.
Simon Ammann: He is the defending champion and right on time for the ski flying World Championships he was on the podium again. Ammann's last big goal this season are the Championships. And the fun is back for the Swiss. That speaks in his favor.

Roman Koudelka: An underdog, but still not a surprise he's on the list. The Czech is jumping extremely consistent and strong this season - and he can also ski fly. Koudelka has established himself in the world class.

Severin Freund: He also knows how to ski fly, but he only has an outside-chance. The German has strong nerves and knows how to use some good wind. But not all of his jumps are that good. In order to win a medal Freund needs a perfect competition.
Anders Fannemel: A real underdog. The youngster from Norway showed some great potential. At age 20 and with not much experience in the World Cup he showed some really long jumps in Oberstdorf.
