40 days after his fall at the 4-Hills-Tournament in Oberstdorf, where he fractured his eighth vertebrae, Tom Hilde returned to the hill again on Tuesday and made his first jumps.
Tom Hilde: It's not that bad »
"You couldn't tell that he took such a long break. He understood again why he started with ski jumping in the first place. He said it was lots of fun", his coach Jermun Lunder said to the newspaper "Dagbladet".
Eleven jumps in Lillehammer
Tom Hilde didn't feel any pain and made a total of eleven jumps under perfect conditions on the normal hill in Lillehammer and will also continue to train there Wednesday and Thursday. "He is ready to give it all again", Lunder told Dagbladet.
So a comeback in the World Cup soon and a participation at the ski flying World Championships in Vikersund late February seems possible for the 24-year-old.
