Simon Ammann announced to the media on Wednesday that he will return home early from the 4-Hills-Tournament. After his 16th place in the third competition in Innsbruck and his 11th place in the overall ranking the Swiss decided not to take part in the final event in Bischofshofen.
He sufferes from a gastro-intestinal virus for a couple of days now and that's why he made this decision. The illness weakend him physically and he is also losing weight, but might also have an effect on the ski length he is allowed to use.
Ammann will now return home to Switzerland to recover and then participate in the World Cup when he feels fit and strong again.
