After the injury of Tom Hilde that he suffered when he fell in Oberstdorf, the Norwegian team might get reinforcement soon. Anders Jacobsen, who retired from the national team before this season because of motivation problems, starts his comeback.
The goal is to win
The 26-year-old plans to take part in the Norwegian national Championships on the large hill in Trondheim on February 7th and wants to defend his title from last year. "The goal is to win", Jacobsen said to the Norwegian newspaper "VG".
With a good performance at the national championships, the winner of the 4-Hills-Tournament 2006/07 also wants to qualify for the ski flying World Championships in Vikersund late February. "Of course, the World Championships are interesting, but in order to have a chance to be on the team I have to win the Norwegian Championships", told Jacobsen, who is also convinced of the program of the new head coach Alexander Stoeckl.
For Anders Jacobsen also a return to the national team in the future is possible "if the motivation and the enthusiasm is there again".
Bardal: "We need such athletes"
The currently best Norwegian, Anders Bardal, spoke positive about the possible comeback of Jacobsen. "I hope Anders wants more than just participate in the Norwegian Championships. He has the skills to be the ski jumper in the world and we need such athletes in the national team", Bardal told "VG".
