Seven Norwegians on the national team
The preparation for the new season already started for the Norwegian athletes with a first short training camp recently and at a press conference on Friday the national team for the upcoming season was announced.
Besides the second of the 2012/13 overall World Cup, Anders Bardal, who could not attend the presentation because he's sick, also Tom Hilde, Anders Jacobsen, shooting star Andreas Stjernen, Rune Velta, Anders Fannemel and Kim Rene Elverum Sorsell were named to the team of head coach Alexander Stoeckl.
Former world record holder Bjoern Einar Romoeren, who could not compete last winter due to back problems, will not be on the national team. But the 32-year-old is not thinking about a career end yet. "My goals for next season are the Olympic Games and the ski flying World Championships", Romoeren said to the Norwegian newspaper VG.
"When Bjoern is physically top fit again, he can start working on his jumping technique. He has the potential to compete with the best again, it would be a fantastic achievement if he would be to make it despite his injury", sports director Clas Brede Brathen is quoted on vg.no.
