COC-M: Home victory for Danny Queck
The Continental Cup competition in Brotterode on Saturday turned out to be a duel between Danny Queck and Slovenia, with the better end for the German.
The 23-year-old, who makes his comeback this weekend after a five week break due to injury, was already in the lead after the first round with 116.5 m. With a great jump on 121 m in the final and 277.5 points he then took his second win in the COC.
"I'm really that I could celebrate a victory here in my home region. With this great atmosphere, a very enthusiastic crowd and a very well prepared hill it was a highlight of my career. I hope, I can repeat this result on Sunday."
Queck was followed by a group of strong Slovenes. After achieving three podium finishes in Iron Mountain recently, Matic Benedik was also in the Top 3 today. With 266.4 points and jumps on 115.5 m and 115 m he came in second this time.
