Alissa Johnson wins qualification in Ramsau

The best three in the qualification for the final ladies' competition in the year 2012 in Ramsau am Dachstein (AUT) were two Americans and one Slovene. Alissa Johnson won ahead of her teammate Jessica Jerome and Spela Rogelj.

With a jump on 91 m and 114.8 points, Alissa Johnson proved the currently good shape of the US team together with Jessica Jerome (88.5 m; 107.8 points). Johnson also showed the longest jump of this qualification.

 

Strong team performance of Slovenia

 

The third place went to Slovene Spela Rogelj with a jump on 85.5 m (105.4 points) and finished close ahead of her teammate Ursa Bogataj. With Katja Pozun (7th), Anja Tepes (8th) and Maja Vtic (9th) three more jumpers of Slovenia achieved a Top 10 result, and Eva Logar came in 13th. So Slovenia showed the strongest team performance today.

 

Line Jahr (NOR) and Elena Runggaldier (ITA) shared the fifth place, Yurina Yamada (JPN) completed the Top 10. 

 

A total of 55 jumpers took part in the qualification in Ramsau, with Cornelia Roider (AUT), Sabrina Windmueller (SUI), Taylor Henrich (CAN) and Karolina Indrackova (CZE) five athletes failed to make the cut for tomorrow's competition.

 

Hendrickson and Takanashi prove good shape

 

All six German jumpers could qualify for the competition, Katharina Althaus was their best as 15th. Of the pre-qualified athletes especially Sarah Hendrickson (USA) and Sara Takanashi (JPN) presented themselves in a strong shape. Jacqueline Seifriedsberger (AUT) and Coline Mattel (FRA) did not compete in the qualification.
