Holmenkollen: 100 000 Fans are the goal
Even if the new season is just starting this weekend in Lillehammer and next March seems to be far away, a promotion campaign was already started now for the World Cups on the famous Holmenkollen in Oslo.
The goal of the organizers, in co-operation with current and former ski jumping heroes like Tom Hilde, Anette Sagen and legend Bjoern Wirkola and the Norwegian Ski Association, is to get 100 000 spectators out to see the events at the Holmenkollen.
"In order to succeed, we cut the ticket prices from last year in half. We're starting early with the marketing and are working really hard to create great conditions so the people can experience the celebration which Holmenkollen should be", said Sverre K. Seeberg, director of the nordic World Cup in Holmenkollen. "This is the world's most known ski jumping hill and therefore it's important to show, that we Norwegians can fill the area", Seeberg continued.
The events at the Holmenkollen this winter will take place from March 15 to March 17, 2013. Besides the ski jumpers, also cross country skiers and nordic combined athletes will compete there on the same weekend.
