Sara Takanashi seemed almost unbeatable today. With 105 m and a new hill record on the HS 106 facility she laid the foundation for the win in the first round. The 15-year-old Japanese then jumped on 105.5 m in the final round (247.3 points) and not only defended her lead, but even improved the hill record once again. "I really happy today. This hill is absolutely great for me! We had good conditions and so it was a fair competition", said the happy winner.

Slovene Katja Pozun already proved in the official training and in the trial round that she can do very well on the hill in Almaty. 100 m and 97.5 m and a total of 231.7 points earned her the second place in this competition. "I really didn't expect such a good result and, of course, I'm very happy about it. I like this hill here in Almaty", said Pozun, who was surprised by her own success.

The third place went to young Canadian Alexandra Pretorius, who attracted attention with consistently good performances this summer. After the first round she was only eleventh with 91.5 m, but with 100.5 m in the final and a total of 215.8 points she moved up to the podium: "It was kind of a struggle with this hill at the beginning, now this hill is really fun for me. I didn't think about the result today, I was only focused on my jumps."

In absence of the overall leader in the Summer Grand Prix, Daniela Iraschko, Sara Takanashi now overtook the Austrian with her win today and has a good chance to win the overall title. But Alexandra Pretorius is still a contestant, she is only 23 points behind. Daniela Iraschko is now on the third place.
