After 117.5 m and the sixth place in the first round, Alexey Romashov of Russia moved up to second overall with the longest jump of the day on 125.5 m in the final. With this performance he achieved his first ever podium result in the COC in front of his home crowd.

Behind the Russian, also Austrians Stefan Hayboeck, David Zauner and Lukas Mueller could improve their result with good second jumps. Hayboeck moved up from eight to three, Zauner from seven to four and Mueller jumped from tenth to fifth in the second round. Four Austrians among the best five - an outstanding team result!

It didn't go that well for the young Germans in the final. Karl Geiger and Marinus Kraus were on course to a podium result after their first jumps but could not defend the very good positions. They finished sixth and 14th.

After the first days in Russia, Horst Tielmann, COC coordinator of the FIS, is satisfied with the new location. "It is a fantastic venue with a very good hotel and nice hills. I think that Tchaikowski will host more FIS events in the future because everything is very well organised."
