COC-M: Vegard Swensen third
The first Continental Cup competition in Bischofshofen ended with a home victory of Stefan Kraft.
The 18-year-old, who is living near Bischofshofen, celebrated his second victory in the COC with jumps on 131.5 m and 132.5 m and a total of 251.0 points.
The second place went to Robert Hrgota (251.0 points). The Slovene was leading ahead of Kraft after the first round, but could not defend this position with a 130 m jump in the final round. "I'm very happy about my second place. Tomorrow I want to show to consistant good jumps and win if possible. Bischofshofen is one of my favorite hills and I always enjoy coming here."
Vegard Swensen from Norway came in third with 130.5 m and 128 m and achieved the best result of his career in the Continental Cup. "I'm very satisfied with the third place. I could already achieve good results here in the past. The Norwegians are doing very well right now. We are getting better and better and that's good for the team. I like the hill here a lot."
Nejc Dezman as fourth and Anze Lanisek on the fifth place completed the great team result for the Slovenian team. Only 15-year-old Lanisek won Gold at the Youth Olympic Winter Games two weeks ago.
Also on the places six to eight followed young jumpers: 17-year-old Pole Klemens Muranka, 16-year-old Mats Berggaard from Norway and the also only 17-year-old Aleksander Zniszczol from Poland, who attracted some attention with very good results at the World Cup in Zakopane last weekend.
Best German was David Winkler as ninth, Simen Grimsrud from Norway completed the Top 10.
Norwegian Andreas Stjernen leads in the overall ranking of the COC with 637 points ahead of Michael Hayboeck (542 points) and Kenneth Gangnes (479 points).
