The BWT Distance Award supports b.waterMISSION, a special project of AQUA Pearls For You and Planet Blue Foundation, building wells in The Gambia and Tanzania. Therefore, every jumped meter of our BWT family members counts. After all 9,000 meters, BWT donates a tap. The built tap provides access to safe and clean drinking water around the clock, ensuring, that nobody has to walk further than 150 meters to the next tapping point.

As an extra highlight, a personalized tap is dedicated to the Four Hills Tournament winner, the Ski Flying World Champion, the Ski Jumping World Champion, the Raw Air winner as well as to the overall World Cup winner.

 

 About BWT b.waterMISSION

With this project, we have set ourselves the goal of building wells in mainly rural areas of Gambia and Tanzania, thereby ensuring the access to clean drinking water. With b.waterMISSION, the basis for the sustainable and reliable implementation is already set. Now it is our (joint) task to build as many taps as possible.

The taps provide affordable, clean water 24 hours, 7 days a week. “Before the tap was only open at 9am to 12pm and in the evening also 5 to 6 pm. It was so difficult for us, honestly. It’s so perfect now, because anytime you need water, you can get it, even at midnight.” - Asanatou Mballow, Female Villager, Jarreng.

Our mission and our responsibility are, to provide accessible and enjoyable water for everyone and everywhere. BWT is working around the clock to make this vision a reality. As part of the BWT Distance Award, our ski jumpers can now participate in this tap building project and therefore they collect meters for a good cause.
