CareerWith bib # 4, Gregor Schlierenzauer joined the World Cup circuit in Oslo in March 2006, and with place 24 he jumped to his first points ... the Austrian “wunderkind” achieved his first victory just a few months later in Lillehammer on December 3rd, 2006 and finished the 2006/07 season on the fourth overall spot, one year later, Schlierenzauer moved up to second ... at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Sapporo, Schlierenzauer won Gold in the team event ... in the season 2008/09, the Austrian got first place overall, scored a new points record (2083) and won 13 competitions, which meant a new record for victories in one season (six of them in a row) ... Schlierenzauer won both Ski Flying titles, individual and team, in Oberstdorf (GER) in 2008 ... 2009, the Austrian won Gold at World Championships in the team and placed second in the Normal Hill competition ... 2010, Schlierenzauer came back from the Vancouver Olympic Games with one Gold (team) and two individual bronze medals ... at the World Championships in Oslo 2011 he won Gold in both team competitions and in the individual event on the large hill. In the same season he also won the ski flying overall World Cup ... in the winter 2011/12 he won the 4-Hills-Tournament and Gold with the team at the ski flying World Championships in Vikersund ... a year later he could repeat his triumph at the 4-Hills-Tournament ... on Feb. 3, 2013 he celebrated his 47th and 48th win in the World Cup and improved the record of Matti Nykaenen (46 wins) ... a few weeks later he won one gold (team) and two silver medals (ind.
