Koch had his first start in the FIS World Cup in December 1998


... he achieved his first points in the season 1998/99


... three years later, at the end of the season 2001/02 he reached the World Cup’s top ten, placing eighth overall


... 2001/02, Koch got his first podium places: third in Engelberg  (SUI) on 16.12.01, second in Hakuba (JPN) on 24.01.02, second in Sapporo (JPN) on 26.01.02


... then he had to wait until March 2006 to achieve another podium place (third in Planica)


... 2006, Koch won Gold with the team at the Olympics in Torino and got fourth places in the individual and team competition at the Ski Flying World Championships in Bad Mitterndorf (AUT)


... 2007, he placed ninth (LH) at the Sapporo World Championships but did not make the team


... 2008, he won Silver in the individual and Gold in the team event at the Ski Flying World Championships in Oberstdorf (GER)


... at the 2009 World’s in Liberec, Koch won Gold with the team


... 2010, he won Gold in the team event at the Ski Flying World’s in Planica (SLO)


... on January 8th, 2011 he celebrated his first World Cup victory at the ski flying in Harrachov


... at the World Championships 2011 in Oslo he won the silver medal in both team competitions


... at the ski flying World Championships in Vikersund 2012 he won bronze in the individual and gold in the team competition


... his best result in the overall World Cup was a sixth place in 2010/11
