Ammann joined the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup Circuit in December 1997, when the then 16-year-old got 15th place at the Four Hills Tournament in Oberstdorf


... in 2001, he achieved his first individual Top Ten result in the World Cup placing seventh in Engelberg and second at the second competition at the same place


... Ammann crowned his young career winning two Olympic Gold medals in Salt Lake City (USA) without having won a World Cup competition before


... on March 17th, 2002, he got first place at the World Cup final in Oslo


... he had to wait until December 2006 before achieving his second World Cup victory


... in 2007, Ammann came back strongly winning Gold and Silver at the Sapporo Nordic World Ski Championships


... in 2009, he added a normal hill bronze medal to his collection in Liberec; later in the summer, he won the FIS Overall Summer Grand Prix, the first Swiss athlete to do so in history


... in 2010, Ammann achieved nine World Cup victories and the overall title, won two Olympic Gold Medals in Vancouver (CAN), and placed first at the Ski Flying World Championships in Planica, Slovenia


... in the 2010/11 season he won the bronze medal on the large hill at the World Championships in Oslo and finished second in the overall World Cup
