WJC: Austria wins Gold ahead of Germany

Michael Hayboeck is double World Champion. After his triumph in the individual competition at the Junior World Championships in Hinterzarten he also won with the team. Under heavy snowfall and after a couple of interruptions the Austrian team, Hayboeck, Mario Innauer, Lukas Mueller, Florian Schabereiter, won clearly with 1030.5 points.

Silver, and with that the long-awaited medal, went to Germany. Felix Schoft, Pascal Bodmer, Tobias Bogner and Stephan Leyhe reached a total of 1010.5 points. The third place went to Slovenia with Matic Kramarsic, Peter Prevc, Dejan Judez and Jaka Hvala (1006.5 points).

Finland, Norway, Poland without a medal

Finland and Norway could not win a medal at these Junior World Championships. With Sami Niemi and Ville Larinto, who already have some experience in the World Cup, Finland finished fourth (950.5 points). Norway had a really bad day, landed only on place eleven and clearly missed the final of the best eight teams.

Also the Polish team has to leave the Black Forest without a medal. This was a disappointment for the young, ambitious team from eastern Europe. But on the other hand it was shown that Italy is catching up. Lead by Diego Dellasego, who jumped very good again, Italy finished on a good seventh place, behind Poland and Japan.
