David Zauner kept his great form also in the time without competitions for him during the Olympic Games. The Austrian won the qualification for the first individual competition of the Nordic Tournament on Sunday in Lahti with a jump of 126.5 m (136.3 points).
Germany's Michael Neumayer (134.6 points) was second, only half a meter short of Zauner. French Emmanuel Chedal was third. Harri Olli was the best Finn as fourth, Japanese Daiki Ito finished fifth.
The Germans showed a strong team performance and with Martin Schmitt (7th) and Severin Freund (8th) two more athletes were in the Top 10. Andreas Wank (13th) and Michael Uhrmann (15th) also had good jumps. But Pascal Bodmer could not qualify for the competition. Best Norwegian was Roar Ljoekelsoey as eleventh.
Malysz with best of the pre-qualified With 130 m, Adam Malysz showed the longest jump of the pre-qualified athletes, Janne Ahonen landed already after 109.5 m. Right now, with four more competitions to go, Ammann is 57 points ahead of Schlierenzauer.
16 jumpers could not qualify for the competition, among them the whole team from Kazakhstan. Also Jernej Damjan and Takanobu Okabe did not make the cut.
