Women's ski jumping: OMV sponsor for three years
"The size of a hill is no criteria for hosting World Cup competitions", FIS race director Walter Hofer said in his presentation of the sport during the 32nd Forum Nordicum of nordic sports journalists in Ramsau am Dachstein (AUT) and mentioned the interest in the Summer Grand Prix in Hinzenbach as an example.

Hinzenbach is one of the organizers in the first year of the ladies' ski jumping World Cup, and this is the big innovation in ski jumping. The 2011/12 season is writing sports history, just like the 1979/80 season did - it was the first ever FIS World Cup season in ski jumping!
Historic winter for women's ski jumping
At the Forum Nordicum Hofer spoke about the ladies' World Cup in detail. It was the first time, the World Cup calendar was presented in front of a large number of media representatives. At the opening event in Lillehammer on December 3rd men and ladies will compete on the normal hill, in the following order: first round ladies; first round men; final ladies; final men. "With this compact program of two and a half hours we hope to present women's ski jumping to the audience."
Then Hofer gave the floor to Christian Moser, who is responsible for sports sponsoring in the Austrian company OMV - and OMV will be supporting the FIS Ladies' World Cup in its first year. "I'm happy that we can present us and our activities here at this event", said Christian Moser. "OMV has been involved in ski jumping for 20 years, also on the youth level - because this is where the sport begins. Among other things we started a juniors-project in Rumania in 2010. And the latest project is the ladies' World Cup. There are no studies, no numbers - but it's a new story and we want to be a part of it from the beginning. And we want to provide the ladies the platform they deserve. That's why we are a part of it, and that for at least the next three years."
Mixed-competition in Hinterzarten
What was also confirmed: There will be a mixed-team-event next summer in Hinterzarten, maybe also in Courchevel and Almaty. "We are also thinking about mixed-team-competitions at the main events", said Walter Hofer. "That could already take place at the World Championships 2013 in Val di Fiemme, if the Italian Ski Association applies for it. Because actually the program for the Championships is already complete."
