In 1987 the planning for the Olympic Ski Jumps in Hakuba started and in November 1992 the 50m Euro hills were completed and ready to jump on. One year later the plastic mattings for summer ski jumping were installed.

In 1998 the ski jumping and Nordic combined competitions of the 18th Olympic Winter Games 1998 of Nagano were hosted here. Afterwards regularly World Cup, Grand Prix and Continentalcup competitions take place on the Hakuba ski jumping hills.
