In 2003 the construction of a new Swiss ski jumping center which includes four hills (K105, K70, K45 and K25).began in Einsiedeln. Before that, the was only the so called K20-Probeschanze in Eschbach, which had been built in 2001 and removed three years later.
In July 2005 the new modern plastic covered facility with lift and an artificial snow machine could be opened after two years of construction and now the 12 million SFr project has been host of COC and Grand Prix ski jumping competitions since summer 2005. Also a sports and ice-skating arena has been built in order to improve the infrastructure of the sports-center Eschbach.
During the construction, the local ski club could count on the support of its members who placed the plastic mattings on all four hills in voluntary work. With this new construction Einsiedeln, together with Kandersteg, becomes the main training facility for Swiss ski jumpers in summer.
