After the bid to host the Olympic Winter Games 2014 was not successful, two new hills were built at the existing facility for the Asian Winter Games 2011 in Almaty. Construction started in fall 2007 and shall be completed in September 2010. There will be a stadium for about 20 000 spectators and a lift.
