Additional information:

With winning the Gold medal in Oberstdorf 2008 he became the youngest jumper ever to be World-Champion in skiflying.

He was voted “Shooting star of the year” in 2007 by the Austrian sports journalists and was a member of the “Team of the year” in 2008 together with Thomas Morgenstern, Andreas Kofler and Martin Koch for winning gold in the team competition at the skiflying World-Championships.

Schlierenzauer is managed by his uncle Markus Prock, a former World-Champion and Olympic medalist in luge.

In the season 2008/09 he set two new records: 13 World Cup victories in one season and more than 2000 World Cup points.
